Five of the world’s most beautiful restaurants

Every year, the Prix Versailles, awarded in partnership with UNESCO, recognizes exceptional examples of architectural achievement across a range of categories, such as airports, hotels and campuses. Its 2025 list for the World’s Most Beautiful Restaurants honors 16 newly opened or redesigned restaurants around the globe. The prize looks to dining establishments where architecture and interior design create a meaningful dialogue with culture and hospitality. From the list, there are five standout establishments — from Miami to Mallorca, Dubai to Shanghai — that exemplify design at its most inspiring. These restaurants are more than just beautiful places; they are environments in which bonds and relationships are strengthened.

With a name that means “welcome to our humble abode,” Gerbou exudes hospitality while seamlessly highlighting Emirati culture and fine dining. Located in Dubai’s Nad Al Sheba district and designed by Emirati design firm Kristina Zanic Consultants, the restaurant features textures and materials that pay homage to the region: camel-leather seating, ghaf-wood furnishings and soft desert tones that echo the surrounding landscape. Locally sourced ingredients define the menu, while thoughtful details, such as fish-scale light fixtures and abstract regional motifs, create a space that feels rooted yet forward-looking.

Blackswan — Beijing, China
Set within the striking Luo Hong Art Museum complex, Blackswan is a serene retreat infused with symbolism and precision. The design by American interiors firm Chris Shao Studio draws inspiration from the graceful movements of its namesake bird, evident in a layered chandelier that evokes floating feathers and a palette of moody monochromes. A central garden pond, home to live black swans, offers guests a moment of stillness amid Beijing’s urban intensity. The result is a meditative environment where architectural restraint and natural beauty converge to create an elegant backdrop for modern French cuisine with Asian influences.
