WATCH Friday Faces: Georgia agent Riezl Baker on food, family and work ethic
By LINSEY STONCHUS
Multi-talented real estate agent Riezl Baker of Luxury Lake Oconee Real Estate Group opens the latest episode of Friday Faces by playing a calming tune on the piano in an outstanding 8,214-square-foot property in Greensboro, Georgia.
During the tour, Ms. Baker reflects on family, cuisine and her work ethic, which she attributes to both her service experience in the hospitality space and her first job.
“I worked during the summer for my uncle,” Ms. Baker said. “He was a commercial fisherman. We would go out to the ocean at three o’clock in the morning to catch the fish and sell it off at the morning markets. Not only did I learn to clean and filet fish, I also learned the value of hard work at a young age.”
Watch on for more from Ms. Baker.
As Ms. Baker explores the sprawling Georgia listing, she identifies its open and spacious kitchen as being her favorite room and mentions her love for cooking international cuisine.
“I come from a big international family and I have siblings in Japan and the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand,” Ms. Baker said. “When we get together, everything revolves around food. We love to cook and eat.
“Hands down, my favorite country is Japan,” she says. “Japan is fascinating. It is rich in culture and history. The people are very nice and hospitable, and it has over 600 Michelin-starred restaurants.”
Following a similar theme, food and loved ones are highlights in Lake Oconee as well.
“We love the ability to hop on our boat, pick up our friends and go to our favorite restaurant,” Ms. Baker said. “Lake Oconee, it’s paradise. We have 250 miles of shoreline, award-winning golf courses, a Ritz-Carlton in our backyard and tons of activities.”
