Maureen Tully Merkl first became an agent because she wanted to follow in her family’s footsteps. She recalls seeing all the fun they had and all the great life-long friendships they made and is happy to be doing what she always wanted to do as a second career. Maureen’s family is deeply rooted in real estate as she is a third-generation realtor! Her grandparents emigrated from Ireland and owned a small real estate brokerage in Whitestone, Queens in the 1950s through 1970s. Her mother and aunt were realtors as well as an uncle who was a real estate developer. Two of her cousins are also realtors. It was truly a family affair!
Working out of Rockville Centre’s Howard Hanna | Coach Realtors’ office, Maureen originally came to us with a prolific history as a paralegal in the field of legal litigation and criminal law. Her attention to detail, scheduling, coordinating parties, and handling sensitive information with the utmost care strongly supports her real estate business. With innate empathy and compassion for the individual needs of people, especially those who have very difficult and sometimes dire life-changing circumstances, Maureen hopes to educate people about home ownership and help them through the process of finding a home and which can be a daunting and intimidating process. Personally experienced in multiple home renovations courtesy of Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy, Maureen can offer suggestions that can help with homes in need of extra care.  
Living in Flushing, Queens, Garden City, and attending school in Manhattan, Maureen is very familiar with all of Long Island, as well as the boroughs of New York. She also frequently visits Hunter and Windham Mountains and is very familiar with upstate New York.
