Fern Hammond is a consummate real estate professional with more than 35 years of experience. Fern grew up in Manhattan, attending P.S. 6 and The High School of Music & Art. After graduating from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1975 having studied Fine Arts and Architecture, she returned home to New York and began the search for her own apartment. She quickly discovered her passion. With her appreciation and knowledge of architecture, her love of working with people, and thriving on constant action, real estate was the perfect business for her. She started in rentals in 1977, then worked for Beloff Properties from 19871991 as the Director of Sales for The Sage House at 4 Lexington Avenue and The York River House at 1175 York Avenue. After two very successful sellouts, she worked for MLBKaye International Realty which was also a Prudential affiliate for 15 years. She was Co-Director of Fine Homes & Estates and a constant top producer earning the Prestigious Chairman Circle & Legend Awards. In 2006 Fern joined Brown Harris Stevens (then Halstead Real Estate) as a Senior Vice President and was quickly promoted to Executive Vice President. She is also a member of The Diamond Club (a Halstead designation) having successfully closed multiple deals over $10M. In 2020 Fern joined Brown Harris Stevens as a valued member of their luxury sales team, where she has continued to prove her marketing, sales and negotiation skills among the best there are in the business. Fern has been interviewed for articles in New York Magazine and The New York Times Real Estate section and has appeared on Law Line and other local real estate shows as an expert in luxury apartment sales and how to handle difficult negotiations. Fern is known for her absolute tenacity and fierce loyalty to her customers and clients.
