George Washington didn't sleep here. However, if he was alive today, this is where he would want to live. The main home was built in 2022 on this 85.91 acre property. BUT, has a colonial style feel throughout, including the second smaller home. Let's start with the main home. It's very difficult to build a modern home with all the conveniences and yet, when you walk through the door, have a rustic colonial feel radiating all about. This home captures it, perfectly. We'll start with the basics. 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, full basement, spray foam insulation, and attached 2 car garage. The home features oak hardwood floors, and antique bricks that were brought in from a brick road in Kansas. The roof has shake shingles from Canada that have been treated with a fire retardant. The interior and exterior lighting features were handmade in Vermont. The kitchen features soap stone counter tops and soap stone sink, also from Vermont. A magnificent stone fireplace, and the glass over the classic main entrance front door is hand blown bullseye glass direct from Silver Dollar City. Also, there is a bonus room over the 2 car garage that is a perfect place to get away for some quiet time, or a game room, office, or just about anything you would want it to be. A full bathroom could be added for additional living quarters. As you drive up to this house (the blacktop state road ends at the beginning of the driveway) there are many things that will draw your attention. What captured mine was the stone dry stack wall in the front yard. Hand built and shaped by a craftsman that took 3 months to complete. Off to the side of the main house is a hand hewn 1840's log cabin that was moved from Meta, Missouri. The chicken coop and wooden barn are Colonial Williamsburg replicas. Also, there is a pond just to the south that is stocked, and approximately 71 acres of the 85.91 total acres are woods ready to hunt and explore with plenty of trails throughout. Everyone has heard of the mothers-in-law quarters on a property. Well believe me, any mother-in-law will think they have the best son-in-law, or daughter-in-law, ever! This 2 bedroom, (there is another room that is considered a non-conventional bedroom) 1 bathroom home retains the colonial-style feel of the main house. Large rooms give a spacious open feel that will make you feel right at home immediately. I have attempted to describe this wonderful property, but I fear I have failed! The only way to truly appreciate just how fantastic this place is, is to see it in person. You will NOT be disappointed!
