Colleen started her career in the customer service industry, where she developed the ability to listen to clients and tailor effective solutions to their unique situations. Colleen is a licensed attorney in New York and New Jersey and has honed skills such as exceptional communication, critical thinking, and unrelenting advocacy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Psychology from Villanova University and a Juris Doctorate from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University.
Deeply civic-minded, Colleen has been a visible community volunteer and leader since moving to Garden City in 2013 and was awarded the New York State Commendation Award by State Senator Kevin Thomas in December 2019. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Garden City PTA since 2018 and is currently the PTA Director at Stewart Elementary School. She is also active in her property owners’ association. She recently co-authored a monthly sustainability column in the Garden City News and was successful in petitioning the village to ban the use of pesticides at all neighborhood parks.
