Over 20 years ago I first visited New Hampshire to see my wife, who grew up in the mountains of Jackson, NH. Her family has lived here for generations and has a deep connection with the land as her great-grandfather, Joseph Brooks Dodge played an integral role in developing the AMC hut system and the Mount Washington Observatory. After meeting her grandfather, Joseph Brooks Dodge Jr, an Olympic skier and an avid hiker who helped with the early development of Wildcat, it was hard not to appreciate the beauty and appeal of living in a small New England town; her family introduced me to the incredible ways the changing seasons bring new outdoor activities right to our doorstep. I have come to love the small community of the Valley through the connections I have made by stopping into the post office, hiking local trails, and going into the small businesses that support our town. I’ve also enjoyed getting to know the mountains through my work for the Appalachian Mountain Club early in my career while my wife worked in the huts system. I have realized how easy it is to fall in love with this place and have enjoyed living, learning, and playing in New Hampshire with my family, and appreciate the opportunities it has given my children. This is the reason why I recently purchased my own home and decided to settle in this beautiful area.

While the environment of my own upbringing differed greatly in climate and culture, the warmth of the people in this community reminds me of the town I grew up in Jamaica. There is a close-knit feeling of living in a small town and in Jamaica I benefited from growing up in a place where everyone knew your family and took the time to talk whether it was in the market or after church services. Living in Jackson, I have enjoyed spending time with the local community and whether it’s family game night, watching my kids learn to ski at Black Mountain, or catching up with the local news, I feel connected to this place and the wonderful people who have chosen it as their home.

After a successful high school education in Jamaica, I pursued an opportunity to study at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York, where I studied English and an Economic-based course called Culture and Difference. I also earned a minor in Peer Education and Human Resources. Upon the completion of my undergraduate degree, I decided to work for an insurance agency, which allowed me to travel throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont as both an agent and later a sales manager for several years. Next, I worked for the Appalachian Mountain Club for more than three years in the reservations department, which gave me first-hand experience of the campsites, lodges, and hiking trails available for visitors to enjoy. My time at the Appalachian Mountain Club also allowed me to appreciate the incredible history of this area and I enjoyed hearing stories from my wife’s grandfather about growing up in Pinkham Notch in the late-1930s.

In 2008, I moved to a small New Hampshire boarding school, where I taught English, coached multiple sports, and served as a dorm parent for high school-aged students for almost 15 years. Working as a teacher helped me develop patience and empathy. Patience when helping people to understand a concept, and empathy when someone needed support and kindness as they navigated a challenging moment or life experience. During this time, I achieved a Master’s Degree from Dartmouth College in Globalization with the honors of summa cum laude.

During the last several years, I have cultivated my passion for music by starting my own business as a DJ for local events, weddings, and parties. This has allowed me to share my love of music and help others celebrate special moments in their lives. This has allowed me the opportunity to travel throughout New England and get to know other nearby towns and venues.

In all my fields of work and life experiences, I am passionate about helping people. I am enthusiastic about assisting others as they become the best version of themselves and reach their desired goals. Throughout my experiences, I have cultivated connections with my community and helped support others in achieving their goals. I find it fulfilling. Now in real estate, I will bring that same enthusiasm and drive to helping people sell or purchase their homes. I am a strong advocate and will do my best to ensure a positive experience where you can enjoy the process as you pursue new opportunities. I am honest, compassionate, and dedicated and will prioritize my client’s needs. I look forward to working with you!
