Modern, functional design, embedded in a breathtaking garden and forest landscape is the statement of this comfortable house in Velbert.
Situated on the hills above the tranquil town of Langenberg, this property offers peace, tranquility and closeness to nature despite its central proximity to the major city districts of Düsseldorf, Essen and Wuppertal
The house was designed and built in 1966, a time in which architecture tended to try to connect to the concepts of the Bauhaus. The demand for light, air, interior space perspectives, the connection between inside and outside and a non-ornamental language of form can also be clearly seen here: it is - even in the modern sense - a modern building.
Built in the hillside, the house presents itself at the end of the small and quiet cul-de-sac with two storeys. Easily elevated to the street level, it opens onto a porch, followed by a spacious hall, where a shapely spiral staircase made of steel / natural stone - the favorite child of the 60s architecture - becomes the protagonist. Thus perspectives and light from above skillfully connect the two living areas.
That, too, was a goal of 1960s architecture: simple floor plans. So the division of the rooms is quickly told:
On the ground floor façade there are two sleeping / children's rooms, a workroom, a shower room and the cloakroom. Throughout the back of the ground floor are the useful rooms - utility room, boiler room and a large utility room that conveniently has access from the central hallway.
In the upper part is in the left part of a large living room, a dining room and the kitchen, in the right part two bedrooms, a bathroom and guest toilet. A central conservatory with an uninterrupted view of the garden is immediately the favorite place.
Surprising highlight of this house is the park-like garden, over which the adjoining forest rises and whose seasons change through the panoramic windows of the rooms to enjoy. On a higher terrace you can experience the sunset in the summer to the last ray.
A property that does not reveal its values ??at first glance, for lovers of modern architecture and a certain understatement!
