Muddy Water is a boutique winery situated on sunny slopes above the Waipara Valley in North Canterbury, New Zealand. Internationally renowned, the Waipara region is an up & coming area synonymous with quality wine.

Established in 1997, Muddy Water vineyard has been a love affair for its two wine aficionado owners. With the assistance of two full-time viticulturalists and winemakers, the owners have developed this vineyard to a production of 6,300 cases in 2008, with up to 250 tonne crush capacity. Approximately 70% of annual production is exported through existing distribution channels throughout Australia, USA, UK, Asia & Europe. The vines produce Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Syrah varietals planted over 16.7 hectares. A frost protection sprinkler system is installed and organic certification is due in October 2010.

Within the main building is a fully equipped two storey, two bedroom residence - an excellent weekend retreat or business office. Constructed of post & beam and straw bales, it provides excellent insulation and aesthetic qualities.
