VILLA FASCINATO MAJESTIC VERONA PROVINCE

Price Available Upon Request

Located in Terrazzo (legnago) - Verona, IT  •  Web ID: CTX

Villa Fascinato is a majestic area, in the south-east Verona province. Nowadays its appearance comes close to a building of art nouveau period, typical of 1900, even if this place preserves memories of the Della Scala’s age (1400). Analyzing old documents and the presence of some forts in the area, we may deduct that Villa Fascinato was part of a defensive structure built by Della Scala in a border area near the Mastodontic castle of Castelbardo and the fortified town of Montagnana. The location Toran or Torrazzo was already mentioned in some old papers even before the XVI century.

Inside the complex there are 4 towers, two on the side of the main building and two are on the back. These last two are dated in the Della Scala’s period and the particular workmanship of the cornice together with the architectural structure may confirm this supposition. In an inner courtyard, Villa Fascinato keeps a marble well of XV century, the more interesting element of the whole complex. The original structure of the villa dates back to 1400, even if various elements back-date its origin to some hundred years. The villa is characterized by the sumptuousness and the elegance: the majestic façade is enriched by two lateral towers, Barchesse and decoration. In the east side there’s an oratory dedicated to S.Carlo Borromeo.

The internal area of 1000 square meter, totally restored in 1997 and furnished, has a large entrance hall that embraces the total length of the villa and gives origin to four lateral rooms as a typical disposition of Veneta Villas. Furthermore, there are other two rooms, two kitchens and four bathrooms. On the first floor we find nine bedrooms and five bathrooms. The cottage of square meter 325 on the east side has to be fully refurbished. Originally the villa was on one floor, the other one was made up later. The staircase on the first floor is of 1800 century and was built sacrificing a room on the ground floor. The original owner was the Nichesola family, than the property passed in the middle 1600 to the Bevilacqua Lazise and further to the Fascinato family, whose name is still impressed on the front of the main building.
