A very rare find. Antebellum plantation home built in 1843 for Edward Bertrand Davis. Home is known as The Davis House or El Recuerdo on the National Register. Greek Revival elements define the character of this charming Antebellum house dating back to 1843. Home built completely of cypress and heart pine. Much history surrounds it's original owner, Edward Bertrand Davis who commanded the Back River Troop of the 5th Regiment of the South Carolina Militia. Traveling down Raccoon Rd, you'll first notice the brick columns and wrought iron gate with an avenue of oaks leading to the main house. First floor features a broad entrance hall with a double mahognany staircase which rises at each side of the hall and merges at a back landing where a single flight rises to the second floor.
