Historic and magnificent residence called "Villa Reale" (Royal Villa) built during the Lombard period (ninth century). Through many generations has been the residence of noble families and great patrons of art. In 1806 this wonderful villa became property of Elisa Bonaparte, sister of Napoleone Bonaparte, sovreign of Lucca and all of Tuscany afterwards, who had the bright idea to buy others prestigious villas adjacent to create this magnificent complex that we can still admire today. The Villa presents at the entrance the two former barracks of the royal guard, the first one is spread on two floors for about 300 square metres, the second is about 600 square metres on two floor plus basement.

The main house, "Villa Reale", distributed over three floors for a total surface area of 2,500 square metres, has maintained the trimmings, the frescoes, and the original floors and doors that are well preserved; it consists of halls, lounges, dance halls, studies, libraries, as well as numerous bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchens and servants’ rooms, and it is furnished with authentical and precious furnishing dated to the first empire period. The bishop’s villa is spread over three floors above ground for a total of 1,500 square metres. The “Villa dell’Orologio” (Clock Villa) is four floors above ground for a total of 5,500 square metres. The park, created in the 17th century, covers about 20 ha and it was enlarged and embellished by Elisa Bonaparte who enhanced it with exotic plants, a pond, a swimming pool and a theater. The estate as a whole needs partial restoration. It is 30 km from Pisa, 40 km from Forte dei Marmi and 75 km from Florence. Price on request.
