This historic and heritage house is situated in the Aughrim Hills, Co. Wicklow an area known as the Garden of Ireland. HISTORY
Clone House was first built in the 1600’s, by the O’Byrne family. The house was subsequently rebuilt after 1798, when it was burned down during the revolution. It was the manor house of a large estate covering the areas of Moneyteigue, Clone and Coolahullen. The Patten Family name is the most associated with the house and at the time the estate consists of thousands of acres. The current owners bought the property in the 1999 and undertook a major renovation project, while maintain the integrity of the building. They operated Clone as a successful country manor guesthouse.
DESCRIPTION
Clone House is a charming Georgian residence, sitting on its own 4 acres in a peaceful country location surrounded by beautiful mature trees and set well off the country road. The gardens are laid out around the property and offer views of the spectacular Wicklow Hills. The gardens feature a waterfall, pond, vegetable and herb garden and a wide variety of plants, shrubs and flowers.
