Arundel Burrell Named Exclusive Realtor for Habitat for Humanity in Marin
Posted 10/29/2009NOVATO, CA, October 29, 2009 – Frank Howard Allen is proud to announce that Arundel Burrell, an agent in the San Rafael Office, has been selected by Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco as the organization's exclusive REALTOR® in Marin County. Earlier this week, Habitat introduced its first home in Marin after more than 15 years of efforts to bring affordable housing from Habitat to the county. The vacant and neglected foreclosed home on Center Road in Novato was acquired, with Burrell's assistance, as part of Habitat's Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) -- helping to revitalize neighborhoods that have been destabilized by foreclosures and creating responsible homeownership opportunities for local working families. Habitat received a start-up grant of $250,000 from the Marin Community Foundation to help launch the program in Marin.
“This is a very exciting time for me as I assist Habitat,” said Burrell. “We have been given a wonderful opportunity to make the community we love an even better place by providing new affordable housing options for local working families.”
“Frank Howard Allen is committed to the community and this is a natural fit for us,” adds Ronna Somers, General Sales Manager of Frank Howard Allen Realtors. “Current market conditions, as well as federal and state programs, make this a prime time to create new opportunities for home ownership. We are extremely proud of Arun and honored that Habitat chose our brokerage.”
Burrell, a Realtor with Frank Howard Allen since 2007, has been in the business for seven years. He provides the full spectrum of real estate services. Habitat signed an exclusive buyer-broker agreement with Burrell and Frank Howard Allen to purchase foreclosed homes in Marin. Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco will refurbish the homes with community volunteers, then will resell the properties to working families.
