Boulder, along with its southern neighbor Denver, has settled into a period of prosperity and optimism, with the last two decades brining an influx of well-educated professionals who now call the area home. Whether encouraged by their economic prospects, the comfortable climate, the academic environment at the University of Colorado, gorgeous Boulder luxury homes, or the endless outdoor adventures, they are proof that the area's beauty and sophistication are more than skin deep.

The Flatirons, rock formations piled on the Rocky Mountain foothills, surround Boulder's open green space and serve as a dramatic backdrop for the city. Boulders crashing into the creek that serves as the city's major water flow provided the creek, city and county with their solid name. The sturdiness of that moniker is far from superficial, as the city prides itself on its rich history, abundant cultural opportunities and honored traditions.

Many of those traditions are rooted in the summer months. Since 1979, the season kicks off with the Bolder Boulder, a 10K road run on Memorial Day, which attracts up to 50,000 participants, making it one of the largest road races in the world. Focusing more on exercising the mind rather than the body is the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, with performances held at outdoor and indoor theaters on the University of Colorado campus.

Boulder luxury homeowners are fortunate enough to enjoy every season in this prosperous progressive city from their own Flatiron-view retreat, contemporary country home, or unique luxury ranch. These styles coincide beautifully in the sophisticated residences that fill Boulder and surrounding communities of Niwot, Lafayette and Longmont.
