Javea, also known as ‘Xabia’ within the Valencian dialect, is a small coastal town in Spain’s Alicante province. Nestled at the foot of the Montgo summit on the Cap de la Nau headland, Javea overlooks a placid natural bay that, in turn, opens up to the Mediterranean and nearby Balearic Islands. Orange orchards and a quiet valley stretch away from the town on its inland side, making Javea an ideal example of an archetypically sheltered and rustic seaside Spanish village. As the Montgo protects the valley and harbor from any harsh winds while the air, in general, draws from the warmth of the Mediterranean and natural sunshine of eastern Spain, Javea benefits from consistently pleasant weather and, indeed, has been named by the World Health Organization as having one of the healthiest microclimates on the planet. For this and other reasons, including the town’s charismatic ‘Old Quarter’, access to nearby Ibiza, and beautiful beaches, Javea has become the preferred winter home location for many northern Europeans, particularly those from England and Germany. Its comforts are not exclusively traditional, however, as though its many beachfront restaurants are known for their classic Spanish cuisine and entertainment, the town’s infrastructure has been thoroughly upgraded over the years. Though many examples of largely untouched historical homes and landmarks, including the millennia-old church of Sant Bartomeu, exist, there are also newer residences that, though constructed according to zoning rules that are designed to preserve the centuries-old feel of this quintessential Valencian coastal town, are noted for the way in which they integrate traditional aesthetic touches with modern amenities. Comfortable weather and homes, however, are not the only things Javea is noted throughout Europe for, as the Arenal, a strip of beachfront bars and nightclubs, and Duanes del Marn harbor area are also famous for sporting a friendly, thriving culture that is known for its eclectic musical and culinary choices. Individuals who want to enjoy Javea’s natural splendor can also hike within the adjacent Montgo Natural Park or take daytime sailing excursions to Ibiza or any of the other Balearic islands.CHALET TYPE LUXUY HOMESPACIOUS ESTATE LOCATED IN JARDINES DEL SALADAREXCEPTIONALCHARMING CLASSIC MEDITERRANEAN VILLAGREAT SEA VIEWSNEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOME IN A TRANQUIL LOCATIONTRADITIONAL VILLA IN PRIVILEGED TORRE AMBOLOLOCATED ON THE SEA FRONT
