About Arizona
In 1912, Arizona became the final of the 48 contiguous states to be admitted to the Union. It is known for its desert landscape and is home to one of the most famous natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon. The Colorado River took millions of years to carve the breathtaking 277 mile long canyon, which reaches depths of more than a mile.
