From Teardown to Deconstruction in Luxury Real Estate

Keeping consistent with the now ever-present themes of sustainability and green living in luxury residences is the emerging trend of “deconstruction.” As opposed to demolition, deconstruction allows non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity to repurpose usable parts of homes that would be tear-downs and pass them on to new users.

This process is certainly applicable to the luxury market; buyers of luxury residences acquire surrounding property with existing homes, while prime waterfront parcels often have structures that could be recycled.

Luxury Portfolio member Briggs Freeman Real Estate is helping lead the way for this movement in North Texas with the first deconstruction project in that region – read the full release.
